Program Description

Healthcare Administration Bachelor’s Program started in 2006 and seven batches have graduated till today. The program focuses to develop among the students an essential understanding of the healthcare delivery systems and services. It also aims to develop the factors that influence the healthcare environment, appropriate healthcare management and research methods in healthcare technology. It trains the students with professional competencies that are pertinent in today’s healthcare environment.

BMC’s Healthcare Administration undergraduate program is designed to meet these needs for tomorrow’s leaders who will not only facilitate to improve our health care system but will keep on striving for enhanced quality.

The specific aim of this program is to develop graduates with the knowledge, skills, competencies and values appropriate for work in entry-level management or policy-related positions or for graduate education in the health care field.

Healthcare Administration and the health care industry offer students a vast array of opportunities, as it represents a major serving sector of growing economy and excellent job opportunities with ambitious Vision of 2030. Healthcare Administration graduates can work in any of following healthcare organizations.

  1. Health insurers (non-profit and commercial insurers, health maintenance organizations, etc.)
  2. Health care consulting firms; (4) health care supply companies (pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, etc.).
  3. health care supply companies (pharmaceutical Companies, medical device manufacturers, etc.).
  4. Health services research and policy organizations (health policy research groups, industry trade groups, etc.).
  5. HCA students can also use the degree to prepare for graduate study in business, finance, economics, ethics, law, medicine or allied health fields, health administration, health services research or policy, and public health.

BMC's Healthcare Administration Program is a pioneer undergraduate facility offering a four (4) years Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration. In all there are 48 courses including practicum sessions conducted in the environment of hospital administration for imparting applied technical experiences. The entire program consists of 140 credit hours with English as medium of instruction.

  • Owing to the increasing importance of health administration, the demand for trained personnel in hospital management has been constantly on the rise.
  • The hospital managers can work in the hospitals, outpatient clinics and treatment clinics.
  • They can be health managers, health consultants; they can even join health insurance companies.
  • They can find employment in International and National Healthcare Organization.
  • If the professionals wish to take up teaching job, they can always join as lecturers in colleges and universities.
  • They can be in specializing Primary healthcare Unit like nursing homes, mental health organizations, public health departments, and rehabilitation center as managers.
  • They can be in pharmaceuticals and hospital supply firms; medical software companies and hospital consulting firms are avenues, which are open for them.
  • After gaining a few years of experience, one can even open a nursing home or hospital.

  • Once this course is completed, it gives numerous opportunities in Healthcare Administration as administrators.
  • The fresh degree holders can be assistant hospital administrators or managers of non-health departments like finance.
